Video Game Monetization Strategies, Chris Cobb ( Journal Response)
In this article by Chris Cobb, he introduces the concept of monetization to the audience/ reader and how it differs from being a non-paying player of a game to a paying player. According to Chris Cobb, one point that he mentions in the article that had stood out to me was when cobb mentions the initial difference of paying players to nonpaying players " In this environment, the rate at which the non-paying player earns content compared to the cost of the content is understandable, where one can imagine a non-paying player keeping up with the pace of a monetizing player ". I find this quote to be interesting because I personally think that if you're a gamer it wouldn't matter if you're a paying player or not, but it seems as though society would say otherwise.
