Level Up: Chapter 4 (Journal Response)

Level Up Chapter 4

-Within reading this chapter of this book literally tells the reader about the many aspects of documents,  such as the GDD ( Game Design Document), the  10- Pager, the one sheet, and finally the best sheet. And each of these documents holds a very important role in designing video games.  I personally find this chapter to be very useful, due to the fact that this chapter can explain each document in a detailed way. For example, how to properly write a One- Sheet document, states, "A variety of people will read it, including your teammates and publisher, so you need to keep it interesting, informative, and most importantly, short. It should be no longer than . . . you guessed it . . . a single page". Another thing about this chapter that I really like is that it tells you the requirements that need to be added to the document. Like for example,  the one-page document requires eight concepts for your game. "Game title, Intended game systems, Target age of players, Intended Entertainment Software Rating Board (ESRB) rating, A summary of the game’s story, focusing on gameplay, Distinct modes of gameplay, Unique selling points, and competitive products". This is the reason why that this chapter is my favorite chapter in this book because it is very detailed and descriptive on what you need to build and sell your game.
